The Wind

The wind blew my mind
far away
I tried to reach out and grab it
but it was too late
My mind had already soared
to unspeakable heights
and I feared for a moment
I was going to lose it for good
but I let it go anyway
since this might very well be the day
our ways would part
who was I to tell
so I let it go
and the wind took me
completely

When the wind brought me back
I found my mind waiting for me
but it wasn’t the same mind any longer
the one I had known so well
It was sitting silently on a chair with my body
slightly confused
not knowing what to think
I watched them for awhile without emotion
until I put them on
opened my eyes and stood up
The wind was gone
for now
